Description

This barn, located approximately 50 metres north of Boarded Barns Farmhouse, dates from the 18th century. It features a timber frame and is weatherboarded, topped with a half hipped grey slate roof. The barn has red pantiles on two gabled midstreys and lean-to aisles at the front, with the space between the midstreys forming an open cartlodge. It consists of seven bays, with hanging knees supporting the tie beams and through bracing connecting to the walls. The roof is supported by side purlins. This barn is considered a good example of its type and is situated in a prominent roadside position.
