Description

This barn, located approximately 50 meters south of Olivers Farmhouse, dates back to the early 17th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a roof covered in 20th-century red clay corrugated tiles. The structure consists of four bays oriented roughly east to west, featuring an aisle on the south side only. Notable architectural details include jowled posts, heavy studding, and curved braces that are trenched inside. The arcade plate and wall plates show face-halved and bladed scarfs. The roof is constructed with clasped purlins and is boarded on the inside. The original footings have been replaced with base walls made of red brick in English bond, which are tarred on the exterior and date from the 18th or 19th century.
