Description
Stocks Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the early 16th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 17th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame that is plastered, with a grey slate roof on the front range and a red tiled roof on the rear range. There are red brick chimney stacks located on the external left side and off-centre right. The house is two storeys high and has a four-window range with small paned vertically sliding sashes. The entrance consists of a six-panelled door flanked by plain pilasters and topped with a flat canopy supported by brackets. Originally, Stocks Farmhouse was an open hall house with crosswings, and some of the original framing is still visible in the crosswings and parts of the roofs that were raised in the 17th and 19th centuries.
