Description
98 High Street is an 18th century red brick house featuring a parapet and a moulded brick cornice. The building stands two storeys tall with attics, and a raised brick band separates the storeys. It has a five-window range with double-hung sashes that include margin glazing bars, set in stuccoed reveals. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door framed by a doorcase with narrow panelled pilasters, a pulvinated frieze, and a dentilled pediment supported by brackets. At the rear, there are 20th century additions. The roof is tiled, in a 20th century mansard style, and includes three segmental-headed dormers. Nos 98 and 100, along with Nos 107, 111, and 113 (The Red Lion Inn), form a group.
