Description

The Cottage, also known as Nos 1 and 2, is a pair of early 19th century cottages located at the east end of Paynters Hill. They are timber-framed and weatherboarded, believed to have been constructed using old timbers salvaged from the Old Rectory when it was demolished in 1836. The cottages are two storeys high, each featuring a two-window range with double-hung sash windows that have glazing bars. There are two doorways, and the roofs are hipped and tiled, with long catslides at both the east and west ends, as well as a central chimney stack.
