Description

Howeys is a house dating from around 1700, substantially refaced in the 19th century. The building is constructed of original red brick and 19th-century red brick, with a plastered brick plinth and a red plain tiled roof. It has an end stack to the left and a large, square-planned stack to the right-hand gable. The house is two storeys high with a 19th-century outshut to the rear. The symmetrical facade is approached by four steps leading to a six-panelled door within a gabled open porch. Two horizontal sliding sash windows are on the ground floor, featuring flat chamfered stone arches and projecting cills. There are three similar sash windows on the first floor.
