Description

No. 26 Abbey Street is a house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, which has been cased in 19th-century gault brick and features a red plain tiled roof. It has a red brick ridge stack located to the right of the center. The building follows a three-unit, lobby entry plan and is one storey high with attics. There are three flat-roofed 19th-century casement dormer windows and three large 19th-century windows with transoms set in segmental brick arches. To the left, there is a sealed 19th-century entrance. Inside, the house retains an exposed timber frame and open hearths. It was formerly known as the Jolly Butchers public house.
