Description

This is a pair of cottages located at 4 and 6 Challis Green, dating from the early 19th century. They are timber framed, with plaster rendering and a long straw thatch roof, featuring a shared gault brick ridge stack. The cottages are two storeys high and have two half dormers. There are two 20th-century windows and two doorways. Inside, the cottages contain two small abutting hearths and a slender main beam. It is said that these cottages were converted from a barn and apple store.
