Description
The lodge at the entrance to Barrington Hall, built around 1880, is a single-storey structure made of brick with a painted finish and a slate roof. The roof is hipped at the northwest end and gabled at the south end, featuring bargeboarding, a finial, and a pendant at the apex. It has tall stacks with entablature that are linked at the capping. The building is designed in an L-plan and includes a doorway at the angle, which is complemented by a contemporary wooden porch that has a gable and a slate roof, along with a similar pendant and finial. There is also a canted bay with a patterned slate roof, above which is a shield of arms of Bendyshe. This lodge is included for its group value with Barrington Hall.
