Description

No. 10 Challis Green is a cottage dating from the early 19th century, which was renovated and enlarged at the south end in the late 20th century. The building is timber framed, with plaster rendering and a thatched roof. It features a grey brick ridge stack from the 19th century. The cottage is two storeys high and has four 20th-century casement windows with leaded lights, which replaced the original four 19th-century horizontal sliding sash windows. The central boarded door is now blocked. Inside, some of the original framing from the south gable end is exposed and serves as a partition wall. There are also gault brick fireplaces. This building is included for its group value.
