Description

The Lodge to Hatley Park is a cottage ornée built in the mid to late 19th century. It features a plaster-rendered exterior with applied timber framing on a rendered plinth. The roof is multi-gabled and thatched with reeds, having half hips that rise to a red brick ridge stack, which has three linked shafts set diagonally with projecting capping. On the east side, there is a thatched gabled recessed porch adorned with a shield of arms, featuring open timber work on the outer arch. The lodge includes one three-light cross-frame casement window and a thatched bay window, with similar windows flanking either side of the porch. The north front also has a bay window and a three-light casement window.
