Description

This is a late 17th-century cottage, although it may have earlier origins. It's timber-framed and was originally rendered with a steeply pitched roof, now covered with cement tiles. The roof has a red brick ridge stack, and the upper courses have been rebuilt. The cottage was originally planned with three bays and a lobby entry, and later converted into two dwellings, retaining the original entrance opposite the stack. A single, narrower bay to the left was used as a dairy. The cottage has one storey and an attic, with a 20th-century gable dormer. The windows are two 19th-century horizontal sliding sashes, and there are two doorways. Inside, the ceilings feature stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
