Description

This is an 18th-century dovecote, situated within Dovecote Barns. Originally listed as Dovecote, at Rectory Farm. It is timber-framed and clad in weatherboarding, topped with a pyramidal roof covered in tiles and featuring gablets. A gabled landing stage is located on the south side. The dovecote has a square plan and three storeys. The ground floor has been converted into a garage and store. External ladders provide access to the pigeon-house at the first and attic storeys. The timber framing shows staggered studwork and straight bracing. The Royal Commission for Historic Monuments, West Cambs., volume (7) provides further details.
