Description

This is a dovecote located to the northeast of Malton Farmhouse, dating from the 17th to 18th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, standing on a red brick plinth. The roof is tiled and features gablets for flight holes and an original landing stage. The structure has two storeys, with a cart shed on the ground floor and the pigeon house above. Although the current cart doors are modern, the flooring of the pigeon house is original and made of substantial scantling. A similar floored pigeon house can be found at Rectory Farm in Coton.
