Description

The Rectory, dating to circa 1840, is a grey brick building with a Flemish bond pattern. It has a low-pitched hipped slate roof and boarded eaves. The building is double piled and features internal stacks. The main entrance is on the west side, featuring a four-panelled door and a rectangular fanlight, alongside one recessed twelve-pane sash window and two blind openings. The front garden elevation has three bays, with three similar hung sashes at the first floor and three full-length fifteen-pane sashes at ground floor level. Inside, the hall and stairwell separate the family and incumbent’s study from the service areas. A cantilevered open-string staircase has a mahogany rail and stick balusters. A section of the service wing was demolished during the 20th century. R.C.H.M. West Cambs., mon.(6) Plate 32
