Description

Number 42 and the Country Shop is a mid-19th century house with a shop, extended in the 20th century. It is built of clay bat with roughcast rendering, and has a plastered plinth. The roof is slated and hipped, with a square planned gault brick stack to the left and a side stack to the right. The building’s plan is square. The central doorway has six panels, and is topped by shaped brackets supporting a flat canopy. To the right of the door is a shop window of three lights and a glazed door, with a common entablature. A recessed twelve-paned hung sash window is located to the left of the door on the ground floor, and three similar windows are on the first floor.
