Description

Tile Cottage is a cottage that was formerly a cottage and shop, dating from the early 19th century. It is timber framed, with roughcast rendering and a tiled roof that was originally thatched. The building features a ridge stack and has a lobby entry with a two-room plan and an outshut at the rear. It is one storey high with an attic. On either side of the doorway, which has a panelled door that is partly glazed, are two fixed light shop windows from the 19th century, complete with glazing bars. There are also two smaller modern windows. The attic windows in the gables have horizontal sliding sashes, and there are two boarded doors leading to the outshut. The cottage was likely built before 1811.
