Description

TL 4843 ICKLETON FROGGE STREET (North-east Side) 21/239 No. 37 (Frogge Hall) GV II House, divided as two dwellings. Medieval with C16 rebuilding of hall range with C17 and C20 alterations. Timber-framed and plastered with brick. Corrugated asbestos roofs C17 rectangular planned ridge stack and C20 side stack. One storey and attic, main range with north cross wing projecting to the street. Boarded door to left hand (and gable door to south). Three ground floor casement windows, one gabled dormer window. Interior: Exposed timber-frame and floor frames. Tall crown post with moulded cap and base and braces to collar purlin and collar in north wing, chamfered doorhead in cross beam. Stop-chamfered floor beams and joists to main range with end room originally single storeyed. RCHM Report 1949 VCH Vol. VI
