Description
Frogge Hall is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. It dates back to the medieval period, with a 16th-century rebuilding of the hall range and alterations from the 17th and 20th centuries. The building is timber-framed and plastered, with some brickwork and corrugated asbestos roofs. It features a rectangular planned ridge stack from the 17th century and a side stack added in the 20th century. The structure is one storey with an attic, and the main range has a north cross wing that projects towards the street. There is a boarded door on the left side and a gable door on the south side. The front has three ground floor casement windows and one gabled dormer window.
Inside, the timber frame and floor frames are exposed. The north wing includes a tall crown post with a moulded cap and base, along with braces to the collar purlin and collar. The cross beam has a chamfered doorhead, and the main range features stop-chamfered floor beams and joists. The end room was originally single storeyed.
