Description

Milestone located outside number 106 on the northwest side of High Street in Melbourn. This milestone is made of stone and is painted white, featuring a cast iron plate that indicates distances to Cambridge (10 miles) and London (41 miles). The road was turnpiked in 1793 and remained so until 1872.
