Description

Meadowside is a cottage that likely dates from the late 17th century, with a small 20th-century extension on the right side. It is timber-framed, roughcast rendered, and has a tiled roof featuring a ridge stack made of early 19th-century grey brick. The building has a three-bay layout with a lobby entry plan, and the service end is located on the right side. It is two storeys high and has two small pane horizontal sliding sash windows. The doorway is situated in its original position opposite the stack, and there is a small window in the former service bay. On the rear wall at the first floor, there is an original leaded light casement window. Inside, some timber framing is exposed, and there are sealed abutting inglenook hearths, one of which has a mid-19th-century reed fireplace surround, along with an ogee stop-chamfered main beam.
