Description
The store at Grove Farm is a crosswing of a late medieval house, now used as a store. It features a timber frame with 19th-century weatherboarding and wattle and daub infill set on a brick plinth, topped with a tiled roof. The building has two bays and stands two storeys high, with a jettied front door located at the northeast end. The jetty joists are supported by shaped brackets. Above the doorway in the northeast gable end, there is a small pane sliding sash window.
Inside, the framing is exposed, showcasing closely set substantial studwork and arch bracing to the tie beam of the central truss. The posts have jowled heads, and the roof is constructed with clasped side purlins and paired wind bracing. On the ground floor at the southwest end, there is a site for a window featuring diamond mullions, along with two similar windows on the first floor—one in the southwest gable end and another in the west side wall.
