Description

The dovecote located 100 yards to the rear of number 96 on Somersham High Street dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with gault brick used in the upper courses. The dovecote has a circular plan, measuring approximately 16 feet in diameter, and features a plain tiled, conical roof with a dentilled eaves cornice. The lantern and nesting boxes have been removed. Inside, the walls are plaster rendered, and it has machine cut rafters along with a queen-strut roof truss.
