Description

This is a late 18th or early 19th century house located on the north side of High Street in Somersham. The building is constructed of brick, with a stucco render applied and incised to resemble dressed stone. It has a slate roof and end stacks made of gault brick. The house is two stories high and exhibits a symmetrical facade with three hung sash windows on each floor. The ground-floor window on the left-hand side retains its original shop front, featuring glazing bars. Above the shop front is an architrave with a plain entablature and dentilled cornice. A central doorway is set within a doorcase of fluted pilasters, topped with a plain entablature and dentilled cornice. The doorway contains a four-panelled door and a semi-circular headed fanlight with glazing bars.
