Description

This is an earlier 18th-century cottage with a later addition at the east end. It is a single storey and attic building, double-fronted with two windows. The roof is thatched with Norfolk reed, featuring a gable to the street and a central chimney stack constructed of red brick and yellow gault brick alterations. The building has a timber frame with a pebble-dash finish, and a later brick refacing of the gable wall. Modern casement windows with leaded lights are present, along with a modern boarded door. A two-storey brick extension with a pantile roof extends from the east side. Numbers 2 and 5 form a group with The Ferns, Berkley Street.
