Description

This is a mid-19th century house, possibly incorporating an earlier structure. It is constructed of polychrome brick with a Welsh slate roof and displays Jacobean style detailing, including a Dutch gable and diapering patterns. The house is two storeys high, with a two-window front. It has 20th-century sash windows in moulded round-arched gault brick frames, each with keystones. A similar window with a segmental head sits below, with a carriage arch to the right. A decorative floor band runs along the facade. The elaborate gable features a central projecting motif supported by brick shafts and stone corbels. The building is noted for its finely detailed facade and its contribution to a significant group of buildings. A public house was documented on this site in 1838.
