Description
Paxton Hill House is an early 19th-century country house located in Great Paxton, with service wings to the north. The house was enlarged in the late 19th century and is constructed from gault brick. It features hipped slate roofs with paired brackets supporting deep, boarded eaves. The layout consists of four linked ranges surrounding a top-lit stairwell, and the building has two storeys.
On the north elevation, there is a range of three recessed hung sashes with glazing bars set in cambered arches. A later central brick porch with stone details has been added. The south front showcases two later 19th-century half-round bays, each two storeys high with parapets, and hung sashes with glazing bars.
Inside, the house retains original panelled doors, marble fireplaces, and cornice mouldings.
