Description

This milestone, located approximately 10 metres south of Kates Cabin on the Great North Road in Chesterton, dates from the 18th or 19th century. It is made of roughly shaped limestone and is painted white with black inscriptions on two sides indicating distances: '5 miles Peterborough' and '8 miles Oundle'.
