Description

Orchard House is a cottage located on the north side of Oundle Road in Alwalton. It is possibly from the late 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble, featuring freestone dressings and a thatched roof. It has a brick end stack on the right side and a ridge stack with two plastered shafts. The cottage is two storeys high, with a glazed door on the left side, a central 20th-century door, two hung sash windows, and a 20th-century casement window with wooden lintels on the ground floor. The first floor has two three-light casement windows.
