Description

This is an 18th-century range of cottages, altered subsequently. Numbers 4 to 6 form a group with the Free Church Hall, the Free Church on Market Hill, and number 7, The Quay. The cottages are two storeys high with flat-topped dormers. Each has one window, except for number 4, which has two. They have a tiled mansard roof. The construction is half-timbered with a painted brick ground floor and applied wooden strips to the older timber frame above, incorporating pebble-dashed panels. Early 19th-century sash windows are fitted, featuring exposed boxing and margin lights. The cottages feature solid oak door frames with panelled doors, and number 4 has a fanlight.
