Description
The Addison Arms Public House is an early 18th-century building that has undergone 20th-century alterations and additions. It is constructed of painted red brick with a tarred brick plinth. The roof is plain tiled, featuring shaped parapet gables and an end stack. The building stands two storeys tall with a symmetrical facade, which is divided by brick pilasters. There is a three-course brick band between the floors and a similar brick band that returns at the eaves height to the gables. The ground floor includes a 20th-century door and two three-light casement windows, while the first floor has three similar windows. The interior has been altered on the ground floor. Historical documents include an estate map for William Wells from 1770 and sales particulars from the Hall Estate in 1918, along with a photograph from 1930-1935.
