Description

The Manor Farmhouse dates to the late 16th century and is a three-unit plan farmhouse with a rear stair turret and later extensions. It is timber-framed, with parts exposed and rendered, and has old plain tile roofs. A shaped ridge stack of red brick rises from the roof, featuring three truncated octagonal shafts. A six-panelled door sits in line with the stack. To the left of the door is one hung sash window, while two canted bays are located to the right. The symmetrical first floor has three modern casement windows. One original three-light window with leaded quarries is positioned to the left of the centre on the first floor, and two similar windows of two and three lights are located on the ground floor. The projecting jetty is supported by two carved scroll brackets, one supporting a dragon beam with geometric carving. An area of original pargeting remains in the south gable, to the right of the first-floor sealed oriel window with ovolo mullion bars. The soffit of the garret jetty bressumer exhibits ovolo moulding. Inside, ovolo moulded ceiling beams are present, alongside a ceiling beam with a carved geometric design in the central room. A two-flight closed-string staircase features barley-sugar twist balusters.
