Description

Rideaway Cottage is a 16th or 17th century cottage located on the west side of Rideaway, Hemingford Abbots. It is a three-unit plan building with one storey and attics. The main structure is timber-framed and has brick casing up to the eaves, with a half-hipped thatched roof to the left. Yellow brick and end brick stacks are present. There are three gabled dormers, each with a horizontal sliding sash window. The ground floor has three similar three-light windows with shutters. A four-panelled door provides access. A single-storey brick extension with a plain tile roof adjoins the south side.
