Description

Parrott’s Garage is a long, timber-framed building dating from the 17th century, situated parallel to the street in Kimbolton High Street. The building is two storeys high. It has a timber frame which is roughcast rendered and features applied decorative timberwork. The steeply pitched roof is covered in plain tiles, with some original 17th-century ridge tiles remaining. There are three ridge stacks. Four dormer windows are present, each with a flat roof and a horizontal sliding sash window with glazing bars. On the first floor, there are five windows; two are horizontal sliding sash windows with glazing bars in moulded wooden frames. The front has three house doors, panelled and surrounded by 19th-century reeded architraves. Also present are two modern casement windows and a shop window. The interior includes some 17th-century oak panelling and 18th-century panelling with 19th-century details.
