Description

This is an early 19th-century plaster shop with living accommodation. It has a hipped roof covered in Welsh slate, with projecting eaves and a panelled soffit. The building is three storeys high and features three sash windows, each with stucco voussoirs and glazing bars. The wooden door surround incorporates reeded pilasters, a dummy fanlight, and a gabled canopy. Wooden pilasters are used to define the quoins. The building is included on the listing for its contribution to the group value of several properties along the Great North Road, specifically Nos. 162, 164, 168 and 168, and also with Nos. 2 to 8 (even) Ackerman Street.
