Description
Nos. 6 and 7 Market Place is a house and shop that was formerly a bank, built in the mid-19th century. The front wall is made of yellow gault brick in Flemish bond, while the side walls feature mingled brick. The building has a low pitch roof that is currently covered with cement tiles, and the upper courses have been removed from the end stacks. It stands three storeys tall, with a smaller attic storey that includes three recessed nine-pane hung sashes. The central sash has a raised surround and a round-headed arch with arched top panes. The first floor features three similar twelve-pane hung sashes, with the central one also having a raised surround and arched top panes. The shop front, added in the mid-20th century, is double fronted.
