Description

St. Augustine's National Day and Sunday School is a school built in 1874, designed by architect Mr. Bassett-Smith in the Gothic style. The foundation stone was laid by Rev. John Scott, the vicar of Wisbech and brother of the notable architect Gilbert Scott. The building is constructed of yellow gault brick with red brick banding and decorative elements. It features a multi-gabled roof with plain tiles and patterned ridge tiles. The structure is one storey tall and includes large, three-lancet-light windows in each gable, adorned with trefoiled spandrels. The entrance is gabled and located on the east side, featuring a two-centred doorway with boarded double doors.
