Description

No. 41 New Street is a cottage built in the late 17th century or early 18th century, possibly one of six constructed by Lord Orford after the emparkment of the village. The cottage features a timber-framed structure that is plastered, with a clunch and painted brick gable wall extending to the attic level. It has a tall local brick ridge stack and a 19th-century red pantiled roof. The elevation facing northeast includes one dormer window with a sloping roof, a four-panelled door on the left side, and two windows that have glazing bars.
