Description

No. 45 New Street is a cottage dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, possibly built by Lord Orford following the emparkment of the village. The building is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a corrugated asbestos roof. It has one storey and an attic, featuring a local brick ridge stack positioned to the right of the center and a side stack on the left. The cottage includes one gable-roofed dormer and one flat-roofed dormer, along with four ground floor windows of varying sizes that have glazing bars, and two boarded doors. To the right, there is a single-storey extension from the 18th century made of painted brick with a red pantile roof.
