Description

Brook House is an early 19th-century house located on Fordham Mill Lane. It is constructed of gault brick with selected bricks used to detail the front facade, topped by a slate roof and featuring end stacks. The house is arranged with two storeys and a basement, with an additional three storeys to a rear range. The front facade is symmetrical, comprising three bays. The first floor has three recessed windows, each containing twelve panes within a sash frame, with a deep segmental gauged brick arch over the central window. Below, two similar, larger windows are set within cambered gauged brick arches. A portico with a flat wooden roof, incorporating soffit panels and a moulded cornice, supports a pair of Ionic columns and a six-panelled door.
