Description

16 and 18 Mill Lane are two farm cottages built in the early to mid 19th century. They are constructed from flint, featuring red brick quoins and dressings. The cottages have a red pantile roof with end stacks and a ridge stack. They are two storeys tall and have a rear outshut. The first floor has three casement windows with glazing bars, which are set under segmental brick arches, while the ground floor has three hung sash windows. The left-hand side has a half-glazed door, and the right-hand side features an original four-panelled door. These cottages are included for their group value with the nearby farmhouse at No 22 and are noted as a good example of 19th-century flint farmworkers' cottages.
