Description
Manor Farmhouse is a manor house located on a moated site, incorporating elements from a 17th century and an 18th century house, although it has the external appearance of a mid-19th century building. The original structure is timber-framed and plaster rendered, but it was underbuilt in brick during the 18th century, with part of this brickwork visible in the rear wall. The mid-19th century section is constructed of grey brick and features a low-pitched slate roof with a ridge stack and an end stack, both with projecting capping supported by brackets. The main range has a service wing at the rear and stands two storeys high. The principal entry is framed by a rusticated surround and a round-headed arch, situated within a two-storey porch that has a Dutch gable and stone dressings. Flanking the doorway are two bay windows, each supported by small brick piers topped with ball finials. To the left of the entrance is a tripartite hung sash window. On the first floor, there are three hung sash windows, each with twelve panes, set beneath gauged brick segmental arches.
