Description
The Anchor is an inn that originally dates back to the 17th century and features a three-unit plan. It has been partly rebuilt with a cross-wing facing the street in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of painted brick and clunch, topped with gabled and hipped roofs covered in modern interlocking tiles. There is a brick stack on the left side and another at the rear. The inn is two storeys tall, while the rear wing is one storey with an attic. It has a dentil brick eaves cornice, which is not continuous along the street facade. On the first floor, there is one casement window and one horizontal sliding sash window. The ground floor has two sixteen-paned hung sash windows flanking a central sixteen-paned horizontal sliding sash window. The main entrance is located in the rear wing. The interior has been altered.
