Description

White Hart Farmhouse is a late 16th-century farmhouse. It is timber-framed with close-studded panels and serpentine tension braces, featuring a continuous jetty to the front elevation and an outshut to the rear. The roof is thatched, and there is a gable stack on the left-hand side, likely dating from the 18th century. The farmhouse has two storeys. The front elevation contains two three-light casement windows on the first floor and two three-light casement windows on the ground floor, flanking a central six-panelled door. Sealed original window openings are present on the front elevation, and a small, unexplained opening is located near the main entrance. A portion of a building has survived which was demolished to the right-hand side of the large external gable stack. The farmhouse is documented in the Victoria County History, Volume VI, page 141, and in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (Cambs) notes from 1951.
