Description

The Windmill on the south side of High Street in Wicken is a late 18th century or early 19th century twelve-sided smock mill. It is timber framed and double weatherboarded, standing on a two-storey brick sill that is tarred. The structure has five storeys and features a restored ogee capping made of metal sheeting topped with a ball finial. Although the sails and fantail have been removed, much of the original machinery remains intact, including the wind and main shafts, the wallower, and the spur wheel.
