Description
No. 45 High Street is a house, likely dating from the 15th century, featuring an open hall and a jettied east crosswing. A stack and floor were added in the late 16th or early 17th century, during which time a single-storey range to the right may have also been constructed. The building is timber framed, plaster rendered, and has a thatched roof made of reed, which is hipped to the left where the roof over the crosswing has been rebuilt. There is a late 16th or early 17th century brick ridge stack. The house has one storey and an attic, with two gable dormers and two windows on either side of an early 19th century pedimented doorcase. To the right, there is an adjoining single-storey timber framed range, which is also thatched.
