Description

The Village Hall, formerly known as the Reading Room, was built in memory of Charles Porcher, Lord of the Manor in 1887, as noted on a stone plaque. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof. The building is single-storey and consists of four sections, or 'bays', which are separated by brick pilasters. A small gabled porch is present, along with a gable on the facade that serves the two central bays. There are two three-light casement windows with diagonal cast iron lattice glazing bars and gauged brick arches, as well as a pair of single light windows in the gabled bay. The entrance door is boarded, and there are two stacks located at the rear.
