Description

Malting Cottage is an early 19th-century brick building that was originally a pair of houses. It stands two storeys tall and features a three-window range with casements that have glazing bars. The doorways are adorned with simple architraves and cornices. At the northwest end, there is a single-storey addition with a pantiled roof. The main block has a tiled roof, which was updated in the 20th century. The house underwent restoration and renovation in 1971. It is included for its group value with nearby buildings. Malting Cottage, along with Nos 54 to 64 (even), Ely Maltings, and other adjacent properties, forms a cohesive architectural group.
