Description
31 Egremont Street is a 16th-century timber-framed and plastered house that was refronted in the 18th century. It is a two-storey building with a later extension to the west end, featuring a single storey and a semi-basement. The facade has a three-window range on the main elevation; the ground floor has mullioned and transomed casements with boarded shutters, while the upper floor is plastered. The doorway is framed by a narrow architrave topped with an enriched pediment supported by console brackets. A two-window-range wing projects to the north at the rear, east end. The roof is tiled, steeply pitched, and incorporates old Cambridgeshire tiles. Internally, exposed ceiling beams and timber framing are visible. The property forms a group with numbers 30 and 31.
