Description
This is an early 19th century Congregational Chapel, built of gault brick and set back from the street. The front of the building features a panel inscribed "Countess of Huntingdon's Chapel." It has two storeys and a five-bay facade arranged as a 1:3:1 pattern. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars in plain reveals. The two outer doors are six-panel doors with semi-circular ornamental fanlights, set within semi-circular arched brick recesses. The roof is slate. The interior includes an apsidal wall on the north side. The chapel is part of a cohesive group of early 19th century buildings encompassing numbers 2 to 8 (even), 9 to 12 (consecutive), 16 and 18, and number 15 Lynn Road.
