Description
No. 25 The Row is a cottage that dates from the 18th century, with possible earlier origins. It has undergone alterations and extensions in the 19th century. The building features a timber frame, rendered on the front, with a rebuilt end wall facing the road made of brick. It has a steeply pitched roof now covered in asbestos and a gault brick ridge stack. The layout follows a lobby entry plan and consists of one storey and an attic, with one dormer. There are two 19th-century windows, including a sixteen-pane hung sash on either side of the lobby entry doorway. At the rear, there is a 19th-century brick wing that is weatherboarded and made of brick. Inside, the cottage has 19th-century bead and quirk boarding on the ceiling.
